Heritage Half-Marathon

The Heritage Half-Marathon and 5k is a very young race in Haymarket, Virginia. In its second year is a very hilly race to do for training and not to PR.

I haven't trained a lot the pass month so i wasn't expecting to do too great, maybe around 2 hours. The race started 30 minutes late because the water supplier for the aid stations never showed up, the race director had to scramble and buyout grocery and gas stations out of water. Besides that, the race is very well put together.

I ran the whole race and it was at my own pace, didn't care about people passing me or vice versa. I hit the wall at mile 9 and wanted to use the bathroom really bad to the point that i almost gave up hahaha, yeah one of those, but i hold it till the end. It slowed my pace tremendously but i finish at an amazing 1 hour and 38 minutes, 62nd place overall, and 3rd in my age group. I could have done much better if it wasn't for the bathroom incident  but i'm pretty happy with myself and my knee.

I am back!
